A Message on Membership Practice
from Dr. Prescott

I am the only doctor at my practice.
As a member of the practice when you come in for a sick visit or well child check you will see me and only me. Unlike multi-provider practices in the region where you can get someone who has never seen your child before, who might not even be a doctor, this will not happen with me.
Membership means you get MY CELL PHONE number. When you call at night, on weekends, or a holiday you will get me. You will not get an answering service taking a message or some unknown person who may never have seen your child before and may not even be a doctor.
As a member you select what hospital you want to use, what specialist you want to see, and when it comes to referrals, you get to select who the doctor will be.
Members have requested an increase evening sick visits because of busy work and daytime schedules. This is why I have posted hours until 8:00 PM on Monday and Thursday, and 6:00 PM on Tuesday.
Members with newborn children are given the opportunity to have me come to their home for the first visit after discharge from the hospital. Members who call me after I have been in the office on weekends and holiday’s have sometimes been seen at my home so I could look at their child – have you ever had a doctor come to your house or invite you over to their home to take care of your child?
I do not use electronic medical records and until I am forced to I will not. I understand what medical privacy means to you and for your children.
If you want a small, warm inviting place to bring your children please join the practice, become a member. I look forward to meeting you and taking care of your children.

IF MEMBERSHIP IS NOT FOR YOU:
If you believe a small, exclusive, membership practice with only one doctor is not for you there are other options in the Lakes Region. There are several multi-practitioner institutions where you can see a different doctor, nurse practitioner, or even a physicians assistant each time your is child sick or needs a physical. Some local choices are:
  • Laconia Clinic 724 North Main St Laconia NH
  • Hillside Healthcare (Both adults and children) 14 Maple St, Gilford NH
  • Belknap Family Health (Both adults and children) 14 Mill St, Belmont NH
Please also note that LRGHealthcare Laconia Hospital offers walk-in and emergency services at their hospital in downtown Laconia.

Please call to find out how you can become a member.
